چکیده

The haemodynamic effects of isoprenaline were investigated in IO patients with acute myocardial infarction. Serial measurements of multiple parameters at increasing concentrations of the drug allowed establishment of a dose-response curve. Significant increase over basal values was observed in cardiac output, stroke volume, and dp/dt. Heart rate increased only moderately. Systemic and pulmonary vascular resistances diminished, without appreciable change in aortic or pulmonary mean pressures. These results were obtained with concentrations of 2/3 to tg/min. No arrhythmias were induced and the clinical tolerance was uniformly good. The use of these small doses of isoprenaline and their effectiveness in the management of myocardial failure complicating infarction are particularly emphasized.

Myocardial infarction is commonly considered as a leading cause of cardiovascular disease taking the lives of seven million people annually. Liver dysfunction is associated with cardiac diseases. The profile of abnormal liver functions in heart failure is not clearly defined. This study was designed to investigate the protective effects of betaine on liver injury after myocardial infarction ind...

Effect of betaine supplement on isoprenaline induced myocardial infarction and serum cathepsin G level in rat model

Background & Aims: Myocardial infarction is one of the most common life threatening diseases in worldwide. Betaine is a safe and well tolerated compound that shows beneficial antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Previous studies demonstrated, betaine reduce cardiovascular diseases but molecular mechanism of action did not known completely. Cathepsin G play pivotal role in tissue injury...

Evaluation of cardioprotective effect of silk cocoon (Abresham) on isoprenaline-induced myocardial infarction in rats

Objective: The study was conducted to evaluate cardioprotective effect of silk cocoon (Abresham) Bombyx mori (B. mori) on isoprenaline-induced myocardial infarction. This study deals with the cocoons, which is called Abresham in the Unani system of medicine. It is one of the 64 drugs which Avicenna has mentioned in Avicenna’s tract on cardiac drugs and used in the treatment of cardiovascular di...

Haemodynamic effects of dobutamine with special reference to myocardial blood flow. A comparison with dopamine and isoprenaline.

The haemodynamic effects of dobutamine (2.5 to 10 micrograms/min per kg) were determined in 5 patients without cardiac failure who were undergoing cardiac catheterisation for suspected coronary disease. Myocardial blood flow was determined by the coronary sinus thermodilution technique. Data were compared with those from two groups of 5 patients who received dopamine (4-8 micrograms/min per kg)...

CORRELATION BETWEEN ELECTROCARDIOGRAPHIC AND HISTOPATHOLOGICAL CHANGES IN ISOPRENALINE-INDUCED MYOCARDIAL INJURY

Myocardial injury was induced in 25 dogs by infusing isoprenaline, 2-4 microgram per kg per minute for the duration of six hours. 10 dogs served as controls which received only physiological saline. Animals receiving isoprenaline 2 microgram per kg per minute were labelled as experimental group A and other receiving microgram per kg per minute as experimental group B. Histopathological obs...
